Child Safety Standards

Do you Prefer prohibits any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Zero tolerance, no exceptions.

What is prohibited

• Posting, sharing, requesting or describing sexual content involving a minor (images, videos, audio, text), whether real or simulated.
• Sexualizing a minor in any way, including through polls, comments or messages.
• Contacting a minor for sexual purposes (grooming), asking them for images or pushing them to produce any.
• Sextortion or trafficking of minors, or promoting either.

Any account involved is permanently suspended, the content is removed, and the facts are reported to the competent authorities and authorized organizations, with the elements needed for an investigation.

Minimum age

The app is for people aged 13 and over. Date of birth is requested at sign-up and cannot be changed afterwards. An account we find to belong to a child under 13 is deleted.

Reporting

Every poll, comment, message and profile has a "⋯" menu with "Report". Reports are handled by our moderation team, with priority given to anything concerning a child's safety. You can also block someone: they can no longer see you or write to you.

Outside the app, or in an emergency: contact@doyouprefer.app (subject "Child safety"). If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police (112 in Europe, 911 in the US). In the US you can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline.

What we do

• Content removal and permanent account suspension as soon as the facts are confirmed.
• Reporting to the competent authorities (in France: PHAROS) and authorized organizations such as NCMEC for content covered by US law, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Preservation of the elements needed for an investigation within the periods required by law, then deletion.
• Cooperation with authorities upon lawful request.
